LoCo October Monthly

On the heels of last month’s LoCo Open, it’s time to resume our regularly scheduled programming with the LoCo October Monthly this Saturday, October 24th at Franklin Park. As always, there will be cash and prizes for all divisions, CTPs, and an ace pot! 

Check in between 8:30-9:00 at the Rotary Pavilion near Hole 10.

This month, LoCo Disc Golf Club is partnering with Thrive DC to hold our first ever ‘Share the Warmth’ winter clothes drive.

As you begin to prepare switch out your wardrobe in anticipation of the coming colder months, please take a moment to set aside any coats, hoodies, gloves, hats, scarves, blankets, and even sleeping bags you no longer need and bring them with you to the LoCo October Monthly at Franklin Park. We’ll collect everything and drop it off in time for Thrive DC’s first distribution event on November 2nd.

Especially desired are men’s coats in sizes XL and larger since many of Thrive DC’s patrons like to layer up during the winter. Don’t have any used winter items? No problem. Thrive DC also is asking for packages of new socks and thermals.

Another Year, Another LoCo

The 2015 LoCo Open is in the books! Thank you to all the players, staff, and volunteers who helped make it the best LoCo Open ever.

We would like to also congratulate all the winners but especially repeat winners Austin Pfaff (3x MPO) and Kim Brennan (2x MG1).

We’re already looking forward to next year for the LoCo Open 5th Anniversary. See you then!

LoCo August Monthly

The 4th Saturday of the month is upon us once again and the August LoCo Monthly will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at Franklin Park. There will be cash and/or prizes for all divisions with CTPs and a HUGE Ace Pot worth $250!

Like last month, $5.00 from each entry fee will help support the LoCo Open (offset B-Tier costs, prizes, etc.). This is our last monthly before the LoCo Open and any and all support is greatly appreciated!!! To help entice everyone just that much more, here are a few of the things that we have in the mix:

  • This monthly, we’ll be playing a customized “Best of Frank” layout which will be the exact same layout as the 1st round of the September 26th LoCo Open! There’s no better way to prep for the LoCo Open than to play the exact same layout! It’s a great mix of short, medium, and long holes that we’ve tested out over the past few weekly events and and we think we’ve found a good combination for all skill levels.
  • Scott Carter has VERY generously donated 10 really nice Gateway Wizards (with various “Phish”, “Dead”, “Panic” and “The Dude” stamps) that will be given out as prizes. Most appreciated, Scott (and special thanks to the NOVA DGA for donating their allotment to the LoCo Monthly).
  • $250 ACE POT sponsored by Stephan Evers! Yes…that’s correct…$250!!! A $2 ace pot buy-in gives you a chance to win $250!!!! If the ace pot isn’t won, all cash will be donated to the 2015 LoCo Open! Thanks, Stephan!

CTP Prizes will include a $25 Gift Card to Purcellville Sports and a $25 Gift Card to Belly Love Brewery, both in Downtown Purcellville.

The 4th Annual LoCo Open Pro/Am

LoCo Open LogoRegistration is open and filling fast for the 2015 LoCo Open to be held at Franklin Park in Purcellville, VA on Saturday, September 26th, 2015.

This is the fourth year of the LoCo Open and it’s Loudoun County’s premier disc golf event every year. Pro divisions will enjoy a minimum of $1,000.00 added cash to the purse and amateurs will be competing in a “True Amateur” event with sweet player packs for all pre-registered amateurs. In addition to being a PDGA sanctioned B-tier event the LoCo Open is also an O.D.D.S. event too, so get your points while the getting is good!

We will once again provide BBQ by Chunk for lunch and will have a nice vegetarian spread for the herbivores.

2015 LoCo Ice Bowl

4th Annual LoCo Ice Bowl and Chili Cook-off at Franklin Park

Franklin Park in Purcellville, VA will once again play host to the 4th annual LoCo Ice Bowl and Chili Cook-off sponsored by LoCo Disc Golf to benefit Loudoun Interfaith Relief.
